MERSEYSIDE SENIOR SECTION PRESENTED WITH THEIR GOLD DUKE OF EDINBURGH AWARDS
28 JULY 2008

On Friday 4th. July 2008, seven members of the Senior Section from Merseyside County attended the afternoon presentation held for the Gold Award of the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme held at the Palace of Holyrood House, Edinburgh and attended in person by H.R.H. Prince Philip.
They joined over 250 young people from Scotland and the North of England to receive their Gold certificates.
The girls are from the 202nd.Liverpool Rangers and Prescot & Rainhill Rangers and follow on from their six colleagues who received their awards last year. The weather held up, despite being “the great British Summer” and the highlight of the day was when H.R.H. spoke with the girls about their experiences during the Award.
Pictured with Squadron Leader Paul Routledge (presenter) are Emily D, Helen M, Catriona L, Jennifer R, Ruth K-W, Heather P and Jennifer M.
Congratulations to them all and continuing success for Girlguiding N.W.E. in general and Merseyside County in particular.
