18 JAN 2010
World Thinking Day is just around the corner and we don’t want you to miss out on joining in on all of the celebrations Pax Lodge has to offer. Pax Lodge doesn’t just want to celebrate for one day, this year we are spending an entire week celebrating. Be a part of our World Thinking Day celebrations.
Download more information about activities taking place from 16-22 Feb.
Visit us when the festivities begin on 16 February until 22nd February and celebrate the joint birthday of the Founders of Guiding and Scouting. You can also join us for a week of activities and international celebrations. These events are a great opportunity to experience a World Centre and meet other Girl Guides and Girl Scouts from around the world without having to travel outside the UK.
The World Thinking Day theme for 2010 is girls worldwide say "together we can end extreme poverty and hunger" and the aim is to raise awareness among everyone about the situation and improve the lives of the poorest people in the world.
Our World Centre hasmany exciting activities planned. Day activities include a tour of Pax Lodge, traditional British cream tea, a visit to Crystal Palace to see the Centenary Maze and much more. Enjoy an interactive challenge around London and learn more about WAGGGS and the world through our international evening programmes. There will be the chance to learn more about Pax Lodge and the other World Centres as well as many different countries. Our group of international volunteers will share games, songs, crafts and activities from their countries.
On 22 February, the official World Thinking Day, we will join together to renew our promise and share messages with members at other World Centres. Make sure to fill out our World Thinking Day application forms that you can find on our website if you are interested in participating. For more information contact office@paxlodge.org.”
