I’m off to visit my Newt family for Christmas so this will be my blog post of the year. I’d like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a happy New Year. It’s been such an exciting year seeing the new Region HQ coming to life and I’ve loved every minute of being down on the site overseeing the building work. I can’t wait to welcome you all to your new HQ early next year. With just a few finishing touches left, I’ll be sure to let you know when we’re open for business. In the meantime, check out the latest building photos on our Flickr gallery.
Right, I’d better finishing my present wrapping – does anyone know the best way to wrap a jar of pickled crickets?

I’ve been spending most of my time down at the new Region HQ site these days, over seeing the final few tasks. I think you’ll agree that the new headquarters has really taken shape in the last couple of weeks, with the external building work almost complete! The shinny new windows have been installed and the siberian larch cladding is up – it really is an impressive building. I can’t wait to welcome you all down to my new home… ahem, of course I mean your new guiding HQ! They’ll be plenty of events and training activities taking place in the building next year, as well as a shop to purchase your guiding goodies and of course the staff team will have a new office there to conintue to support the Region.
I’ve got to rush off now and meet the plasterers so they can get to work before we break for Christmas! I’d love to hear what you think of the building now.
See you in the New Year, Nora x

“Wow!” That’s exactly what I exclaimed when I visited the site of the new Region HQ this afternoon with Chief Commissioner Sue Lomas. Take a look at my photos in our Flickr gallery to see what I mean! It’s all taking shape with the basic structure now in place. I can’t believe how different it all looks since I last popped down at the start of the summer – the builders have been working hard. The space for the garden looks abit messy at the moment, but John (our architect) assured me that it will be tidied up in time for the grand opening (watch this space for details). It’ll be lovely to have a green space to sit out in when it’s sunny. Sue and I both wandered around ‘inside’ the building shell too and I could really imagine where the meeting rooms and shop will be. It’s going to be fantastic, just you wait! No word on where my office will be though?

I’ve just come back from a visit to the site and had to write a blog straight away because boy was it exciting! It was such a hive of activity with builders, diggers and contractors galore. They had even put up portacabins with offices and meeting rooms, and I sneaked in to a meeting between our Chief Commissioner, Region Manager, builder and architect where they were finalising the details for our new HQ! The road to our building is fully complete now and you can really see the building taking shape, including our rather large Region HQ garden – I’m sure we’ll be having plenty of garden parties in there! I have put some new photographs in our Flickr gallery for you to see – the pesky portacabins are blocking the view of our building for now but I’ll make sure I pop on down again soon to get some more shots for you. Bye for now, Nora Newt.

It’s all go down at the site of our new Region HQ on Bluebell Way. I popped on down this week to take a couple of photos to share with you and I can confirm that the access road to our building is almost complete – the wheels really are in motion! The team of builders on site spent this week marking out the reference points for the building, which will act as a guide when the building starts. If you look closely at the photos from this week, you can see the markers and just how huge the new HQ will be! It’s all very exciting. I’m hoping the ground breaking won’t be too far off now, so expect more updates from me soon. Nora Newt, over and out.

Hi! I’m Nora Newt and I’ll be keeping you updated with all the latest news about the new Region building, straight from the site. This week I’ve got some fantastic news to announce…your new Region HQ building is now underway. Hurray! I’ve been down to the building site today and the diggers are hard at work creating the access roads to our new building. So far, wooden markers on our site indicate the positioning of our building and boy does it look big! I’ve updated the Flickr gallery with the photos of the site and I’ll be adding to it each time I visit to keep you in the picture. That’s all for now, but check back soon for the latest news from Nora.
