STATEMENT
Welcome to Lancashire East! A County steeped in history and folklore, at it’s heart lies Pendle Hill with tales of witchcraft, to the west lies the fertile plains of the Ribble Valley and to the south and east towns which ‘grew up’ throughout the industrial revolution.
The County has a good transport network, which makes it possible for our members to join together and share in a full programme of activities and trainings organised by the County Team. As a County we are fortunate to have Waddow, one of Girlguiding UK’s Training and Activity Centres, right on our own doorstep.
With over 5000 members, we are one of the biggest Counties in North West England, with 612 Adult Leaders and 190 Unit Helpers who make it possible week after week for Girls and young women in Lancashire East.
We have 88 Rainbow Units with 966 Rainbows, 126 Brownie units with 2234 Brownies, 71 Guide units with 1002 Guides and 5 Senior Section Units with 27 members and 117 Young Leaders.
