DESCRIPTION:We’re holding another leader social walk on Saturday 3 October at Coniston and we’d love to see you there!\nStart location/Time: Meet at 8:45am for a 9:00am start at the Coppermines and Old Man car park Walna Scar Road above Coniston\, LA21 5HD (GR 294 972). \nInformation: This is a level 3 walk lasting around 6 hours. It is a challenging day out suitable for any adult member with experience of walking in the mountains. We will meet at 8:45am for a 9:00am start at the Coppermines and Old Man car park. We will then climb Dow Crag and the Old Man of Coniston\, before returning to the car. The walk is 12.5 km long with over 870m of ascent\, and is expected to take around 6 hours\, so a good level of fitness is required. \nFinish location/time: The walk is expected to end between 3:00pn. \nKit: We would recommend a small rucksack with a drink in a screw-top bottle and a packed lunch. Please wear appropriate footwear (e.g. walking boots).
