SUMMARY:Leader Social Walks
DESCRIPTION:We’re holding another leader social walk on Saturday 6 June at Castleton and we’d love to see you there! \nStart location/Time: Meet at 9:30am for a 9:45am start at the car park next to Castleton visitor centre \nInformation: The walk is open to all adult volunteers\, not just those working towards a walking qualification. A scenic day walk open to all adult volunteers around Castleton in Derbyshire. The walk will involve meandering through Cave Dale beneath the vertical limestone cliffs and visiting the viewpoint at Hollins Cross. \nFinish location/time: The walk is expected to end between 2:30pm and 3:30pm. \nKit: We would recommend a small rucksack with a drink in a screw-top bottle and a packed lunch. Please wear appropriate footwear (e.g. trainers or walking boots). Depending on the weather you may also wish to bring sun hats/sun cream; a warm jumper or a windproof coat. \nThis walk is NOT dog friendly! \nAs there are a limited number of spaces for this walk\, once we have reached event capacity you will automatically be added onto a waiting list for when a place becomes available. DESCRIPTION:Watch the Lionesses play in Liverpool… for free!\nWe’re delighted to have been approached by The FA with an exciting opportunity for Girlguiding members to access free tickets to the upcoming Women’s World Cup Qualifier between England Women and Ukraine. \nFixture: England Women V Ukraine\nDate: Tuesday 9 June\nKick-off: 8pm\nVenue: Hill Dickinson Stadium\, Everton \nThe opportunity is open to all Girlguiding members\, whether attending as a unit or with family\, and tickets can be redeemed directly via The FA’s website. \nTo claim the tickets\, you will need to have or create an FA online account. You will also need to provide a special offer code\, which is available either directly from your County Commissioner\, or you can also get this code by emailing northwesthq@girlguidingnwe.org.uk. \nPlease quote “Lionesses Match Offer” in the subject line and give your name and member number in the body of the email. Note that emails sent to the region office will be replied to between the hours of 9am and 4pm\, Monday to Friday. \nOnce you have your code\, here’s how you can book:\n\nCreate an FA account\, if you don’t already have one (they can take up to 15 minutes to become active).\nVisit the event page and log-in\, enter the booking code and select ‘Apply’.\nThis will unlock the ‘Girlguiding Comp’\, offering up to 20 complimentary tickets.\n– for up to 10 tickets: select standard booking.\n– for up to 20 tickets: select the Group tab and re-enter the code.\nYou can choose your preferred seating category or select ‘Best Available’. Please note tickets are first come\, first served.\n\nImportant information and things to consider:\nWhen booking: \n\nBookings must be completed within the allotted time once the code is applied.\nOnly e-tickets are available and will be sent no later than 48 hours before the match.\nIf users experience issues creating or accessing their FA account\, they should contact The FA Customer Engagement Team via their website.\n\nFor Girlguiding members and unit leaders \n\nUniform is optional\, unless you’re attending as a unit\, in which case the usual uniform guidelines apply.\nGroup attendance should be risk assessed in the same way you would normally risk assess a unit trip.\nWe’d love to see photos of you in uniform! SUMMARY:Safer Guiding
DESCRIPTION:Join our next Safer Guiding training which is being held on Wednesday 17 June from 7:00pm – 9:00pm \nDuring the session we’ll cover the role of the commissioner in managing concerns\, allegations and disclosures. If any of this content may be a concern to you\, please let us know in advance of the training. \nIn order to complete this course\, you will need to attend both sessions. \nFor more information and to book your place\, click here \nPlease note: As spaces are limited to 22 per session; please only register if you can definitely attend and ensure that there is strictly one leader from your unit attending. If you have completed the training within the last 3 years\, you do not need to redo the training. If you’re unsure when your renewal is due\, please check your record on GO\, or contact your commissioner. \nIf you’re a volunteer who has previously completed a safe space training\, you only need to do this course when your highest level of a safe space expires. So if you have a safe space levels 1 and 2\, you’ll only need to do safer guiding once your level 2 expires. This training must be renewed every 3 years. \nZoom Details \nIf you booked on the Learning Platform: The Zoom joining information should be emailed to you. Emails will be from noreply@learningpool.com \nIf you booked on Eventbrite: The Zoom joining information should be emailed to you.
