A Safe Space Training
In line with UK Government Guidelines, all of our training and event sessions will be held virtually until it is advised that we can recommence as usual. We are very excited for the opportunities we plan to provide when guiding is fully up and running once again. We hope to see many of you again soon and, in the meantime, we hope to see you virtually!
Thank you so much to everyone for working hard to help us to provide the safest space possible for our young members, and a special thank you to our trainers who have been working so hard to deliver virtual level 3 and level 4 trainings!
We currently have 52 trainers who can deliver A Safe Space training all across the region and
- We are currently delivering an average of 4 trainings per week
- We are training an average of 60 members each week

Prior Learning for Level 3
If you have safeguarding expertise or experience outside of guiding, you can apply for the recognising prior safeguarding learning and experience process for Level 3, if you meet certain criteria. To see if you qualify and to apply, download this form, which can be completed electronically and submitted either the Region Office, your local A Safe Space trainer or Region A Safe Space Lead volunteer, Jocelyn Hetherington.
There is no recognised prior learning for A Safe Space Levels 1, 2 and 4. This is because the content covered in these levels explains specific Girlguiding approaches to safeguarding. You will need to have completed Levels 1 and 2 (face to face training or e-learning) before completing the form. If you haven't, please complete these first. We will check volunteers records to ensure that these Levels have been completed in advance of attending the Level 4 course.
