You will have seen that the UK Government recently announced new measures around Coronavirus (Covid-19) and has advised against all non-essential travel and social contact.
As a result, all Girlguiding units in the UK have been suspended with immediate effect.
As a region, we have come to the difficult decision to close our shop at region HQ, but the online shop will still be available for all your guiding needs. Please note, however, that there may be a slight delay in the delivery of your orders.
Upcoming training sessions and events will also be cancelled until further notice; we will keep you updated about any events thereafter.
The upcoming training and events that are cancelled include:
A Safe Space, Level 4 Training
Commissioner Training - Meetings
Adult INTOPS Selection Day
Happy Hikers Weekend
Arts Award Moderation
Individuals who are confirmed to attend any future events will be contacted directly.
We realise that it is an upsetting time within the guiding community, but we will still remain connected with our amazing region and our wider community of volunteers and girls across the UK.
Please note: We are monitoring and staying up to date with UK Government and Public Health England and are following their advice as the situation evolves. Please refer to this page for updates.
Girlguiding has also created a handy web-resource with updated information as per UK Government advice. Girlguiding has also provided some guidance on how to take guiding online. Please refer to these handy resources for more information.
With the slight easing of lockdown, Girlguiding has released handy guidance on outdoor meetings. Have a read here.
We hope that you stay safe during this challenging time and that we can all get back to guiding, as usual, as soon as possible. Stay at home where possible, keep washing your hands, and stay informed...but also remember to be kind and conscious of the vulnerable people in your community.
