Together with their Leaders, over 400 girls from across the North West joined us at Guides off the Grid – the ultimate outdoor challenge.
The girls were challenged to switch of all technology and get back to basics through a variety of different activities.
On this action-packed weekend, the girls completed adventurous activities including a high ropes course, climbing wall, water activities, rifle shooting, archery and abseiling.
The weekend finished with all members taking part in an 'Its-A-Knock-Out' challenge, where the girls had to work in teams to complete an inflatable assault course.
Freya Hale, 12, who is a member of Askham Guide Unit said: “I had a great time at Guides off the Grid and made loads of new friends. My favourite activity was the raft building; even though I fell in and it was really cold, it was still great fun. I love the adventures you have with Girlguiding!”
Julie Bell, Region Chief Commissioner said “Guides off the Grid gave our girls from across the Region a fabulous opportunity to experience some great adventurous activities. The Guides gained skills whilst having tons of fun and mayhem!"
