Are you aged between 16-18 years, with an interest in Politics? Do you want a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see the real-life work life of a female peer? Apply for this exciting shadowing opportunity at the House of Lords.
21 October 1958, marked a significant milestone for female positioning in politics. It was the year where the first female peer took her seat in the House of Lords. We want to engage more girls in politics so they feel they have just as much of a seat as anyone else.
So, to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the life peerage act, we’re sending seven lucky Rangers (aged between 16-18) to visit the House of Lords on 31 October 2018, for a unique opportunity. Here, you will gain an insight into the daily working life of a Peer, from answering emails, preparing questions and researching, to seeing real debates. It will be the ultimate shadowing experience to illustrate how female peers engage with the issues that make real differences in our everyday lives.
The day will be filled with enriching and fun activities which will give a valuable insight into all that goes on in The House of Lords. You will have a tour around the Palace, visit the chambers to watch live Questions, enjoy a pleasant lunch with your female peer, and much more!
