ICE Selection Day

Open / 10.00am - 3.00pm / Girlguiding North West England Headquarters, Guiding Road, Preston, PR2 5PD

Get involved with our exciting International Community Experience (ICE).

This trip offers the opportunity for personal development through community action and international experiences.

The project brings girls together from all over North West England to have fun while doing something positive and meaningful for others.

And you can be part of it too! We’re looking for Adult Leaders (18+) that are up for a challenge and keen to lead on our ICE trip for Guides aged 11-13. You will be a valuable part of the leadership team who organises the 3 stage ICE project.

Stage One

ICE weekend: The purpose of an ICE weekend is to give girls a taste of community action, increase their global awareness, and prepare them for international experiences. ICE weekends present a chance for the girls to learn what community action involves, and to explore different communities by talking to local people and working with local organisations.

Stage Two

Briefing weekend: Following the initial ICE weekend, girls will be invited to participate in further community action and have the opportunity to work on a Community Project (aka Final Project weekend) abroad. The girls who are interested will need to attend a briefing weekend.

Stage Three

International project: The international project will take place in spring/summer 2020 during school holidays.
