Rangers off the Grid is a Region Ranger large-scale fun and exciting outdoor/walking wide game event. Units will camp over the weekend.
Over the course of the weekend Rangers will walk a circular route (each day) and be set various enjoyable and thrilling challenges at check points, they’ll earn points for the different trials as they progress over the weekend with prizes to be won, walking about 10-15 miles in total over the weekend. The Rangers will be asked to enter in teams of 6-8 people or put into teams of 6-8.
The challenges would be varied, but we would encourage the Rangers to be independent, have adventures and learn skills for their future.
As a leader we would ask that you help facilitate the activities over the weekend with the help and support of the region planning team and Ordnance Survey who we will be working in partnership with.
It would be a chance for girls to meet other Rangers across the Region and for you to meet other leaders, have fun and learn new skills.
You could register as a unit or join forces with your district/division or county and join that way.
We encourage you to travel by coach or mini bus or have parents/carers drop off and pick up as the venue only has limited parking.
Cost of the tickets are £40 (plus eventbrite fee) for young members and £15 (plus eventbrite fee) for leaders, this includes food and catering for the Saturday and Sunday, with units needing to organise their own supper/food provisions for the Friday evening and snacks if needed for over the weekend. There will be a mixture of self catering (that we will provide the food or ingredients for) and packed lunches that will be prepared for the day.
