How it works

Recruit a new volunteer to Girlguiding and, once they become an active volunteer on GO, both of you will receive a free exclusive Mission Grow badge.

There is no postage charge for these badges; however, both badges will be posted to one address.

To be eligible for the badge, the new volunteer must complete all onboarding requirements and become active on GO. Depending on the volunteer role, this may include:

• References
• DBS checks
• Safer Guiding training

Because this process can take time, the challenge will remain open until the end of 2026, giving everyone plenty of opportunity to take part.

The challenge will start on Friday 5 June and will run until Thursday 31 December, with the form staying open until Friday 15 January 2027.

County challenge

We’re also introducing a friendly county competition! A special growth-themed prize will be awarded to the county showing the strongest engagement and growth across the challenge period.
