Safer Guiding June 27, 2025Two sessions to be held on Wednesday 23 July and Wednesday 30 July, 7:00pm – 9:00pm
Who is level 4 for?
For all commissioners, designates, deputies and those sharing a role, trainers delivering a safe space Level 4, safeguarding leads and a safe space advisers. There may be volunteers in other roles that may find this useful, for example, contingent management/support teams leading a national contingent to international events.
Don’t forget you will also need to complete Levels 1, 2 and 3. The Level 1 training can be found on the Learning platform here and the Level 2 training here. Level 3 training will need to be undertaken face to face or one of our virtual sessions.
You’ll learn about:
During the session we’ll cover the role of the commissioner in managing concerns, allegations and disclosures. If any of this content may be a concern to you, please let us know in advance of the training.
How long does it take?
This is two sessions.
Please note: As spaces are limited to 22 per session; please only register if you can definitely attend and ensure that there is strictly one leader from your unit attending. If you have completed the training within the last 3 years, you do not need to redo the training. If you’re unsure when your renewal is due, please check your record on GO, or contact your commissioner.
Already have safeguarding expertise or experience outside of guiding?
There is no recognised prior safeguarding learning and experience available for a safe space Levels 1, 2 and 4. This is because the content covered in these levels explains specific Girlguiding approaches to safeguarding. You will need to have completed Levels 1 and 2 (face to face training or e-learning) and Level 3 (face to face training) before completing the form. If you haven’t, please complete these before booking a space. We will check each record to ensure that these levels have been completed and, if they haven’t, you will unfortunately lose your space on the training.
