Adventures in Budapest

We are inviting you to our next ‘Adventures In…’ destination to Budapest, which will take place on Saturday 7 August 2027.

The day will feature an exciting city-wide challenge through the heart of Budapest, followed by an evening celebration bringing together all participants after the game. Our planning team is creating a fantastic programme designed to introduce you to this beautiful city and showcase some of its many attractions.

As previously advertised, this offer is to all units from Brownies to Rangers and adult-only groups (including Trefoil) from North West England Region.

Further information will be shared closer to the event; however, to help with your planning, the cost of the day is £35 per person, plus booking fee, for members of Girlguiding North West England.

For participants from other regions, the cost is £45 per person, plus booking fee.

This includes an event badge, access to six activity bases across the city (including a special keepsake from one base), additional challenges to complete along the route, and the evening celebration.

In addition to the above, your group will need to pay for its own travel, food and accommodation costs for the trip, plus spending money whilst abroad. How you travel to the event and where you stay will be up to you.

As soon as you are booking on a Girlguiding event and not a group of guiding friends going on holiday, there is some due diligence to capture – if something were to happen whilst you were in Budapest, we want to be able to support you effectively.

Therefore, please make sure you meet the following criteria:

• All international residential events run by and for adults in Girlguiding must nominate an event leader. The event leader is responsible for taking appropriate steps and making decisions to ensure the safety and wellbeing of participants, and that the event is run in line with Girlguiding regulations and the code of conduct.
• Completion of a form to notify us about the trip run by and for adults that involve an overnight stay; it can be submitted electronically. This will be emailed to you following your booking.
• All participants should hold A Safe Space Level 1 and should abide by the code of conduct throughout the event.
• At least one participant must hold A Safe Space Level 2.
• At least one participant must hold a current first response or equivalent first aid qualification
• Please complete an international risk assessment, including details of your accommodation/venue
• All adults must complete an International Health Form.  These should be held securely by the event leader or nominated first aid lead.
• Have the appropriate Travel Insurance.
• Home Contact Agreement – follow the home contact system guidance.
