Region Trips 2025

Journey to Zero – South Korea
In 2025, team Culture headed to South Korea, where they dived into everything K-Pop and karaoke! The itinerary included a K-Pop dance class, visits to K-Pop Road and the Gangnam district, and explorations of traditional Korean culture through a cooking class, Gyeongbokgung Palace, and hanboks. A memorable experience was the cultural exchange with South Korean Girl Scouts, along with exploring the diverse sights and sounds of Seoul.
In line with the Journey to Zero initiative, the group utilised public transportation for travel, visited the Botanic Gardens, which was built on a former brownfield site as a green space for the city, and the Cheonggyecheon Stream, a 10-kilometer reclaimed road transformed into a natural environment. Furthermore, the carbon emissions from the flights were offset through a scheme involving tree planting and investments in renewable energy sources to reduce emissions

Journey to Zero – Costa Rica
This will mean thinking about the sustainability of our trips and ways to offset any impact we have.
They spent a week working at @kidssavingtherainforest helping to clean and improve animal enclosures, and provide the animals with enrichment and food each day. They also had a week exploring Costa Rica – seeing wild sloths in Parque Manuel Antonio, white water rafting, ziplining, seeing the wildlife at the Mistico hanging bridges and during a night tour of the rainforest. They also enjoyed the thermal springs and celebrating international guiding meeting some Guias y Scouts in Jaco. They have had an amazing trip packed with adventure!

Journey to Zero – Cambodia
This will mean thinking about the sustainability of our trips and ways to offset any impact we have.
Our unforgettable Girlguiding community trip to Cambodia was an adventure of a lifetime! We explored the breath-taking temples, immersing ourselves in the rich history and culture of the country. Giving back to the community was a highlight, we volunteered at a local school and participated in building projects that will benefit the community for years to come. The team also had time to relax and have fun interacting with majestic elephants, learning about their care and conservation and take part in the Great Race across Siem Reap.

Journey to Zero – Croatia
This will mean thinking about the sustainability of our trips and ways to offset any impact we have.
This opportunity is for our members aged 11-14! This year our members went to Croatia!
During our trip we did everything from walking the famous city walls, day trip to Bosnia, kayaked at sunset, and spent hours swimming in the Adriatic Sea. Each activity gave us the chance to challenge ourselves, discover new cultures, and grow in confidence together.
As a group we worked towards becoming carbon zero by doing activities such as our project with Maritimo; collecting, processing, and repurposing sea plastic, which helped us understand more about the environmental issues facing our oceans and how we can play a part in protecting them. We calculated the carbon output of our flights and activities, then committed to offsetting actions into our daily lives.
