Lead Skills Builder Day for Guides & Rangers at Dale Barracks

Open / 9.00 am - 4.00 pm / Dale Barracks, Liverpool Road, Chester CH2 4BD

Take the lead and try new things at Girlguiding North West England’s Dale Barracks Takeover, sponsored by The British Army - all while earning your Lead Stage 5 Skills Builder.

We’re inviting leaders to bring Guides, Rangers and Young Leaders (aged 12-18) to come along and take part in a day of exciting activities to increase their knowledge, skills and confidence to be an effective leader.

The day is all about developing skills and exploring how to lead a team, create a vision, compromise and negotiate. The exciting activities will help girls understand what type of leader they are and help them play to their strengths while developing new skills.

Spaces are limited to 270 girls and bookings will close as soon as we reach this number, or on 13 May, whichever comes first.

Further Information

Dress Code: The dress code for the event is uniform (top or hoodie). Guides and Rangers will need to wear trainers and gym leggings/tracksuit bottoms, as a number of activities are fairly active. Most activities will be indoors, but some will be outside, so please bring waterproof jackets in case of rain.

Equipment: Water bottles and a packed lunch/snacks will be required for the event. Facilities will be available for young members and leaders to fill up water bottles and access tea/coffee throughout the day.

Proof of ID: As the event is taking place at Dale Barracks, any person over the age of 18 will need to bring photo ID, which will be checked at the gate house. This could be in the form of a photo driving licence or passport.

Groups: Your unit will be assigned a group/mentor to work with - more about this will be explained on the day.

Booking: The booking link can be found below. During booking you will be asked to fill out some further details regarding your transport for the day. If you do not have this right away, you should be able to come back to your booking to add it later, but this information must be completed by 16 May 2022.

We will also email you a form to complete which requests the names and some details of each attendee - please return this by email as soon as possible.
