Our Volunteers

The dedication, passion and commitment of our volunteers knows no bounds. We are incredibly proud of the opportunities they provide and the time they give. We love to hear about the fun they have too!

There are countless ways to get involved and there is something for everyone!

Rainbows (4-7)

Rainbows welcomes all members from 4 to 7 years old for play, learning and tons of fun in a colourful, safe space.

Rainbow units: 768

Brownies (7 – 10)

Brownies welcomes all members from 7 to 10 years old for nonstop fun, learning and adventure.

Guides (10-14)

Guides is a relaxed, welcoming space where you can learn, have fun and be yourself with good friends from 10 to 14 years old.

Guide units: 611

Guide members: 8365

Rangers (14-18)

Rangers are your space, where you get together with other members from 14 to 18 to have fun, learn more, give back, hang out, and just be you.

Ranger units: 200

Ranger members: 1129

Cloud Units

Our Cloud Units are for Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, & Rangers who are unable to attend face-to-face groups. All meetings are held once a week and are run by volunteer leaders. Members can participate in activities, crafts, challenges, and badges, just like face-to-face units!

Young Leaders

Our members aged 14-17 can become Young leaders! It’s a fantastic way to gain qualifications, experience and work with members across any section.

Inspire 18-30

Inspire is Girlguiding’s social community for members aged 18-30.

There is a wide range of opportunities and awards which fit into one of seven pathways: Adventure and Challenge, Beyond the UK, Events Experience, Sharing Skills, Leading the Way, Developing Others and Voice and Action.

Here at Girlguiding North West England, our Inspire members meet regularly and enjoy weekend residentials and trips.

Trefoil Guild

Guiding isn’t just for young members! Trefoil Guild provides fun, friendship, and ways to make a difference for anyone over the age of 18. Every guild is a ready-made circle of new friends, tailored to the interests and lifestyle of its members. Trefoil Guild is a place to find friendships, get involved in new challenges, or get active in your community. It is a place to give support and find comfort. There are more than 1000 Trefoil Guilds across the UK and internationally.

Girlguiding North West England covers 18 counties. We work with counties from the top of Cumbria to the bottom of Cheshire, including the Isle of Man and the British Overseas Territories. We are lucky to live in such a diverse region, with access to a wide range of urban and rural facilities.
