There are two competitions for our North West England leaders and the briefs are;
1 – Design our new region chips and hike badge – this badge will be for our members going on a walk/hike to get some chips, whether that is from a local chippy, or a restaurant or other food vendor. It will give leaders a chance to design an exciting badge for members in the North West region, including Girlguiding British Overseas Territories, to take part in.
2 – Design a new, fun, and exciting badge for GGNWE including our Girlguiding British Girlguiding Overseas Territories – this competition will give leaders the opportunity to have creative freedom and design whatever they like. It does need to be a badge available to all sections.
Please submit your entry to either one or both competitions by sending a photo of your design to malika.hunter@girlguidingnwe.org.uk
Competition ends Monday 2 September 2024 9am. This gives our leaders the chance to enter during summer half term.

Peer Educator Training Weekend May 13, 2024Ratlingate Scout Campsite, Carlisle.
Basic Training & Safe the World!
Peer Educators are members aged 14-25 and are role models that girls can relate to. They help our young members to learn about things that directly affect their lives, by delivering fun and interactive sessions to units!
Featuring themes including mental well-being, personal safety, and challenging gender stereotypes, Peer Education works because girls are eager to listen to those on their level. These fun, safe, and challenging sessions are developed in association with expert partners.

Adventures… by the sea June 24, 2024On the 12 October 2024, Girlguiding North West England will be taking over Southport for a fun filled day by the seaside. This event will be open to all sections across the region.

As this is a unit event all girls will need to be accompanied by their leaders, ensuring ratios are followed. Each unit is required to provide their own first aid. You will also need to bring lunch and enough drinks to last the day.
Both girls and leaders are expected to be wearing uniform during the event.
Tickets cost £1.50 plus the Eventbrite fee. All attendees will need to purchase a ticket, including leaders.

Halloween Fun Day! 👻 September 6, 2024Due to the success of our Summer Fun Days that were held during a week of the summer holidays, we are holding another similar day at the region office. The region office is usually used throughout the week by external organisations who rent our meeting room space, but during school holiday periods we usually find the region space less busy, therefore we wanted to utilise the space as much as we can.
The day is a one-day activity/holiday club for young members and the cost is reasonably priced for a day of child care. So please share this information with parents, so that they can book on should they need childcare and are around or passing the Preston area on the 25 October! We are aware that the Autumn half term is split over two weeks this year with some of the region having their break the week of the 21 October and others the 28 October, so as a result we selected to hold the day the week of the 21 October, which is when Lancashire schools appear to be having their half term.
Join us this October for our action packed and fun filled, Halloween Fun Day! at Region HQ. The day will be filled with a variety of different challenges, activities and experiences. A great opportunity to make new friendships with other members from across the region!
Open to all members between the ages of 5-14 from all counties within Girlguiding North West England. All attendees will receive our very own glow in the dark Halloween badge.
Friday 25 October 2024, 8.30am – 5pm, Region HQ, Guiding Road, Preston, PR25PD.
Members will need to bring a packed lunch and anything else they require e.g. medication etc.
We also ask that members attending please wear their Girlguiding uniform.
£28 per member + booking fee.
Please note this event is non refundable.
